Interactive Learning Resource

Plans to design for inclusion (9)

To ensure that every learner is given the same quality of effective instruction, we had to identify the various barrier present that could impede a students learning. If these barriers are identified, a framework for effective learning can be developed that supports the needs of every individual, modernizing the traditional perspective of how students learn. We will create an environment and strategy of teaching in which information is taught and catered to the needs of all individuals irrespective of their ability. For example, individuals with hearing deficits will experience difficulty when listening to their instructors and fellow peers. Thus, utilizing subtitles in educational videos and having microphones for people to use when they are speaking during class will ensure that everyone is given an equal opportunity. As well, having alternative methods to technology for students use at home rather than a laptop (considering that not everyone has them available). Providing students with educational books they can take home, laptops for rent, or information about where students can go (such as a library) to use laptops for free will ensure that everyone is given an equal opportunity to succeed, regardless of if they have access to technology or not.

A rationale for why you did or did not incorporate your peers recommendations into your final resource

After looking at our peer’s reviews of our interactive learning resource, we changed the activities in order to make it more interactive and we used new technology platforms that would provide the user-generated interaction.
