Interactive Learning Resource
What Learning Design was used? (3)
We chose to base our interactive learning resource around the learning design; cooperative learning. Cooperative learning is a strategy of teaching that utilizes group work to promote student learning, whereby, small groups of students help each other learn and comprehend the topic. The reason we chose cooperative learning is because group work can be very beneficial to students when learning a language, in that, students can practice physically talking to each other in their new language rather than internalizing the information. In this way, students can support each other, and also gain experience with pronunciation, fluency, and utilizing vocabulary in real life situations.
Our learning context ? (4)
This learning resources are designated to help grade one/grade two English language learner (EEL) learning English, we will be teaching individuals who do not have english as the first language, thus we need to start teaching with the basics and build upon the topics. We have divided the content into four aspects; pronunciation, vocabulary, listening skills, conversations. There are six to eight units which has been categorized into different subtopics (view the “interactive learning resource” tab). Activities and assignments will be used to strengthen the students understanding of the content. Cooperative learning is the core theory guiding the design of our learning resource.
